Job Description

Sun Peaks Resort seeks an experienced facilities manager to lead its facilities and security team in maintaining, securing, and improving the infrastructure that supports the thriving community. As the Permanent Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and spearheading sustainability initiative along with implementing security procedures and protocols. Your contributions will directly impact the experience of residents and visitors alike. You will be responsible for maintaining guest-facing areas and behind-the-scenes spaces to ensure they are impeccably maintained and functioning smoothly. Responsibilities & Qualifications

Physical Requirement:

Heavy, Work activities involve handling loads of more than 20 kg, predominately in an indoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

Hire and supervise all custodial staff, including quality control and training requirements
Monitor and update the security system as required, including enabling & disabling security codes within the system. Respond to Security calls as needed
Responsible for securing all SPRLLP buildings and reporting any infractions
Performing a variety of routine accounting functions. Monthly invoicing and issuing Purchase Orders
Ensure 24-hour coverage of the night watch cell phone
Lead, train, and supervise a team of security/custodian personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvements
Control all SPRLLP Keys, including issuing, returning and accurate inventory control
Perform daily custodial/security duties of SPRLLP buildings and controlled recreation area
Maintain and ensure all workplace safety standards, policies and procedures are followed
Ensure all staff follows all policies and procedures
Monitor contractors’ performance to ensure all parties adhere to agreed-upon terms and conditions
Monitor compactor bins and staff accommodation garbage bins, ensuring the area is clean and operating properly
Investigate and report on accidents and incidents as required
Maintain all safety standards and procedures following WCB in the workplace and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Be able to work well with the public and other members of SPRLLP
Positive attitude and enthusiasm towards staff and guests
Ideal Candidate:

Min 5-year experience in leadership and management roles, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse custodian and security team
Experience with yearly fiscal budgets, capital projects, and monthly variance statements
Knowledge of commercial/industrial housekeeping/cleaning requirements, products, and their use
Recognize and analyze potential problem areas and/or deficiencies
Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities maintenance program to ensure the upkeep and functionality of all facilities
The ability to schedule/reschedule time effectively to meet events and additional workloads as they arise
Proven organizational skills with an emphasis on prioritization of multiple tasks covering custodial and security responsibilities
Good knowledge of custodial and facilities needs and a strong understanding of security protocols
Develop and implement extensive security plans, policies, and procedures to protect personnel, assets and information
Collaborate with internal departments, such as human resources and IT, to ensure compliance with security protocols and standards
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity
Must hold a valid BC Driver’s License and current driver’s abstract
Reliable and bondable
Work well within a team and without direct supervision
Effectively supervise and motivate personnel under your guidance and direction
Good working knowledge of current WCB standards as related to the workplace
WHMIS training. Tracking and filing SDS forms for all janitorial products
Good written, computer, and verbal communication skills

Salary/Wage

72,000.00
