Job Description

Do you love all things golf? Ever wanted to work and play on Canada’s highest-elevation golf course? We are looking to recruit Golf Starter Assistants for the upcoming summer. The ideal applicant is happy to work outdoors in a mountain environment in varying weather conditions. You will check all players for green fee payments and report any concerns to the pro shop. Engage with guests and provide information and guidance regarding course etiquette and layout. Perform other related duties and assist with guest check-ins or power carts. Responsibilities & Qualifications

Physical Requirement:

Medium, Outdoor & Indoor

Walking, standing, bending, crouching and twisting for periods of time.
Ability to work in various conditions and weather including indoors, and outdoors
Exposure to heat, rain, smoke, and noise
Lifting – Exerting 20+ kg of strength occasionally, and/or 10 kg of strength frequently or constantly to move objects
This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

Work as part of the golf operations team in a collaborative, respectful and strong communication environment
Communicate and educate players on course rules, etiquette, layout, wildlife and helpful tips
Respond and resolve questions and concerns in a tactful and non-threatening manner
Guest safety is a priority. Educate golfers are safely operating power carts and following signage of the day
Observe and report any concerns immediately to the prop shop or patrol
Maintain pace of play and offer assistance, when necessary, as per the pace of play procedures
Ensure guests are following our Golf Course Alcohol policy
Assist with keeping the course and areas clean and tidy at all times; Repair divots on fairways and greens, ball marks on greens, and clean tee-boxes of broken tees
Health and Safety; immediate action is required when concerns arise. Report to a supervisor or OH&S representative
Operate according to code of conduct, mission, and values of Sun Peaks Resort LLP.
Ideal Candidate:

Fundamental knowledge of the game and rules of golf
Knowledge of the Golf Course layout and all the amenities
Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Energetic, enthusiastic, outgoing personality, and patient
Self-motivated and able to work alone and with a team
Valid Driver’s License
