In close collaboration with Ownership and the local community, the General Manager will play a crucial role in shaping the vision and future of the hotel.
Situated in northwestern BC, Dease Lake is one of three communities in Tahltan Territory, known for world-class outdoor recreation, fishing, hunting, and vast watersheds and mountain plateaus. The surrounding land has been home to the Tahltan people for millennia.

You must set a high bar when it comes to hospitality and have a keen sense of attention to detail. You will directly oversee all aspects of the hotel’s operations, team efficiency, and the overall maintenance and improvement of the hotel. Most importantly, you will help craft and lead the vision for the hotel under new Tahltan ownership.
As General Manager, your key responsibilities and priorities will be:
– Direct oversight of all hotel operations, staff, infrastructure, and property.
– Establishing an efficient and desirable workplace culture while investing in its staff.
– Setting a high bar for hospitality and guest experience from booking to checkout.
– Incorporating Tahltan culture and values into the hotel’s operations and workplace.
– Fostering a strong relationship with local communities and other tourism businesses.
– Budget development, financial management, and oversight over payables.
– Managing contractor relationships to ensure hotel infrastructure is well-maintained.
– Implementing strategic initiatives to improve operations, revenue, and profitability.
– Marketing initiatives and communications for business growth.
Qualifications and Requirements

– Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in hospitality or related fields.
– Ideally, experience in operating businesses in remote northern indigenous communities.
– A strong foundation in business administration, accounting, HR, or hospitality management.
– Proven critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to lead organizational change.
– Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with staff and local stakeholders.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Proficiency with technology and software, or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
– BC Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
– Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Salary/Wage
$70,000 - $80,000
