Job Description

As a housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. Working hours are flexible but generally start at 8 AM, with 3-4 shifts per week. Your ultimate goal is to create a comfortable and safe experience for guests while upholding the hotel’s standards of cleanliness and professionalism. Housekeepers report directly to the Hotel Manager.

Situated in northwestern BC, Dease Lake is one of three communities in Tahltan Territory, known for world-class outdoor recreation, fishing, hunting, and vast watersheds and mountain plateaus. The surrounding land has been home to the Tahltan people for millennia.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

– Ensure guest rooms are spotless and inviting, including making beds, cleaning bathrooms, and vacuuming floors.
– Maintain a welcoming and presentable atmosphere in public areas of the hotel, such as lobbies and hallways, by keeping them clean and tidy.
– Stock and maintain cleaning supplies in guest rooms and public areas to ensure a continuous supply for housekeeping tasks.
– Promptly notify management of any necessary repairs or replacements required in guest rooms to address issues and ensure guest comfort and safety.
– Report any lost and found items to the management team to assist guests in retrieving their belongings.
– Assist with laundry and other tasks as needed to support the overall cleanliness and smooth operation of the hotel.
– Perform laundry duties, including washing, drying, and folding linens and towels.
– Vacuum hallways regularly to maintain cleanliness and prevent dirt accumulation.
– Participate in daily cleaning of the lobby, as discussed and agreed upon with the staff.
– Ensure all room cups are washed and sanitized to maintain hygiene standards.
– If needed, work in teams of two per floor to effectively and efficiently complete housekeeping tasks.
– Stock the cleaning carts at the end of each day to prepare for the following day’s housekeeping tasks.
– Wear a provided uniform with professionalism to represent the hotel’s brand and maintain a consistent appearance.
– Assist with dishwashing duties to maintain cleanliness in the hotel’s dining areas or kitchen.
– Be proactive in identifying areas that need attention and contribute to overall cleanliness and the hotel’s overall positive image.

Salary/Wage

$20-21 per hour
