If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking to recruit a talented Sales Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Sales (DOS), our Sales Managers are the critical drivers to bringing business to both the Resort and Hotel. They identify new business and expand existing opportunities to develop increased sales. This role will work directly with clients to help close business opportunities and develop long-term strategic goals. This is a perfect role for someone who wants to work partially from home or remotely in BC. Commuting to the hotel is an expectation of the position if a client is onsite for a meeting or site inspection. Responsibilities & Qualifications

Physical Requirement:

Medium, work activities involve handling loads between 10 and 20 kg; Predominately in an indoor setting.

This job position is a remote position within British Columbia.

Accountabilities:

Business Development:

Create and implement a sales strategy in line with hotel goals to ensure that revenue, reputation, and market share goals are achieved and results are monitored
Propose sales plans and special programs that drive measurable incremental occupancy; increase average rates; increase business volume during off-peak periods, and increase meetings and event sales
Identify new markets and business opportunities to increase sales and overall revenue for the hotel
Maintain accounts database, contact information, activity, and business details
Update action plans, and financial objectives quarterly, implement all sales actions related to market areas as outlined in the marketing/sales plan
Be aware and in contact with comp set counterparts
Solicitation/Negotiation:

Solicit group business and reach the consistent achievement of sales objectives targeting the right business mix to meet hotel goals
Conduction quality sales calls
Coordinate and arrange site inspections trips
Provide prompt and timely responses and immediate communication to develop long-term business relationships
Follow up on business leads within a 24 hours-response time
Customize and support the administrational aspect of business booked, proposals, contracts, and client correspondence
Understand the hotel goals and business strategies
Relationship Management:

Prepare, collaborate and contribute to the strategic planning, marketing plan and budgeting processes
Manage vendor and third-party relationships, negotiations and contracts
Participate in partner relations throughout the industry and various sectors
Collaborate with the sales team to grow and develop new accounts and markets
Team Commitment and Collaboration:

Manage the Sales Coordinator, ensuring continued progress is made towards the overall sales and marketing strategy
Actively represents the leadership team within the hotel operations team and supports/represents the DOS while off property to ensure seamless leadership presence throughout the hotel
Assists the DOS in guiding the revenue goals of the hotel and department
Guest Experience:

Oversee the sales team’s coordination of events, ensuring the guest experience drives customer loyalty by delivering an elevated experience
Act as an ambassador of the Hotel and Sun Peaks Resort with the ability to promote internal and external events
Secondary Responsibilities:

Operate according to the code of conduct and mission statement of Sun Peaks Grand Hotel LLP
Attend all SPGLLP-sponsored orientations and training programs and represents SPGLLP at relevant industry events
Duties as required to ensure successful operation of the department, including support of other departments and special promotions
Ideal Candidate:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar or related role
Post-secondary education in Hotel Sales, Hospitality, or related field of study is considered an asset
Management and supervisory experience are considered an asset, along with overall solid business acumen
Experience with Opera and Database systems
Results oriented with a background in analytics and performance metrics monitoring
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans
Excellent communication and copywriting skills in varied written and verbal mediums
Effective leader, problem solver, and decision maker
Relationship management background with industry stakeholders, vendors, and agencies
Thrive in a team environment and embrace collaboration across varied platforms
Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Knowledge of the Hotel & Resort product and current competitive environment is considered an asset
A passion for outdoor recreation: ski, snowboard, bike, and golf are all considered assets
Holds a valid driver’s license

Salary/Wage

60,000 - $65,000
