Job Description

Farmhouse Catering is one of the fastest growing Hospitality Companies in Prince George B.C.. We are a food and beverage company offering catering service, along with running our own eatery and bakery. This position will focus on our new restaurant with room to grow into a Head Chef position. Our company believes in Local, sustainable products as much as we can and when it is available. We buy quality products and create menu from scratch. We try to think outside the box. We believe in all our employees are valuable and this is the base to a great company. Our Sous Chefs are hands on with cooking and managing their teams.

Primary Duties:
• In charge of food preparation, planning, and directing tasks to kitchen staff member
• Communicates the restaurant’s vision to all team members and leads by example
• Reinforces the FHCC values daily and inspires the team with his/her exciting vision for the restaurant’s future
• Consistently monitors kitchen operations and cleanliness
• Builds and maintains relationships with team members and front of house management alike
• Follows proper ordering, inventory and receiving procedures
• Shows leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and cooking
• Demonstrates high personal integrity, business ethics and takes every opportunity to promote the restaurant
• Conducts recruitment and selection, training and development initiatives as well as performance management and employee coaching
• Be able to stand for long periods of time, lift objects, use hands to handle/control objects, bend/twist body
• May work on weekends/evening
• Other relevant duties as assigned

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Completion of college level certificate in culinary arts or relevant major is ideal but not required
• 5+ years of previous Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine or similar experience in a team environment is required
• 3+ years of previous leadership role in the kitchen, which include supervisory role of kitchen staff, performance review, recruitment, coaching is required
• Able to perform the physical demand of a busy kitchen
• Excellent knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques
• Good English communication skills (language of work is English)
• Passion for food & culinary excellence

Salary/Wage

57,200.00
