Job Description

Following a promotion, Hotel Grand Pacific is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our Kitchen management team. An independent luxury property home to the highly acclaimed Fathom Restaurant, we’re looking for a Red Seal-certified chef with a positive attitude, proven creativity, and excellent leadership qualities.

This will be an 11-month contract, with possibility of extension.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties:
• Supervise and participate in the day-to-day operation of all Kitchen areas to ensure the highest quality and presentation of products
• Assist with menu development and food presentation specs
• Work with the Executive Chef to prepare the budget
• Assist in conducting monthly staff meetings
• Assist with staff scheduling when required
• Coach and motivate the Kitchen team to success
• Ensure health & safety protocols are followed at all times.

What We’re Looking For:
• Red Seal Certification and at least 5 years of culinary experience that includes supervisory responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of Banqueting experience
• Previous experience working in a 4 or 5-star property is preferred
• Food Safe Certification
• Professional communication skills and effective delegating skills
• Proven coaching skills and an encouraging, motivating attitude
• Accountable and professional with a high level of integrity
• Able to produce accurate and timely food costs
• Available to work full-time hours and varied shifts (AM, mid, PM)

Salary/Wage

60,000-62,000/yr
