Job Description

As an Onboard Crew at Harbour Cruises, you will be responsible for creating outstanding experiences that delight every guest that comes abroad on our vessels. This is a great opportunity for an individual who wants to learn more about the hospitality or cruise industry and who wants to experience a diverse atmosphere.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

As an Onboard Crew at Harbour Cruises, you’ll get to:

-Serve food and beverages to all customers aboard our vessels or at off-site catered events
-Perform opening and/or closing duties for event rooms/vessels
-Setting up dinning/event space according to HC Service standards, including tables, linen, chairs, place settings, buffets and any other guest requirements as noted on BEOs
-Demonstrating responsible alcohol service and impeccable product knowledge
-Suggestive selling – using proven techniques
-Answering questions – accurately and politely
-Handling cash & other forms of payment
-Loading, refilling buffet food
-Clean any food or other objects that might have been dropped to the tables or the floor
-Dismantling buffets once guests have gone through
-Keeping rooms clean, and always cleared and organized
-Preparing rooms for the next event service
-Performing closing duties
-Other Duties as assigned by Management and Supervisory Staff
-Duties and Responsibilities might be adjusted from time to time
-Basic bartending

What you will bring to the team

-Serving experience in a banquet or event
-Prior experience as a server in a fast-paced environment
-A natural problem solver with a desire to impact performance
-Must have Serving It Right and Food Safe certifications to deliver the service in an effective way
-Able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
-Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
-Ability to be on feet for several hours at a time
-Must be able to lift and carry tables, chairs and other banquet equipment up to 25 kg
-Must be available for Friday/ Saturday/ Sunday shifts
