For nearly a century, the Williams Lake Stampede Association has proudly hosted one of Canada’s most iconic professional rodeos. Held annually over four action-packed days, the Williams Lake Stampede draws an average of 17,000 spectators from across the country and beyond.

This hallmark Western heritage event is steeped in tradition and powered by the unwavering support of the Williams Lake community. From the tireless efforts of hundreds of local volunteers to the generous backing of sponsors, competitors, and tourism partners, the Stampede is a vibrant example of what a community can achieve together.

Featuring top-tier rodeo talent, family entertainment, and a true celebration of cowboy culture, the Williams Lake Stampede is more than an event — it’s a legacy.

The Williams Lake Stampede Association (WLSA) is looking for a dynamic, hands-on Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our organization from day-to-day operations and strategic planning to event delivery and community engagement.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do:
• Lead operations and work closely with our volunteer Board of Directors to set goals, priorities, and plans
• Manage staff and volunteers to foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture
• Oversee program and event delivery, including timelines, budgets, and stakeholder coordination
• Direct finances, including budgeting, grant applications, and reporting
• Act as our public face, building strong relationships with community partners, sponsors, media, and supporters
• Drive marketing and communications, helping to grow awareness and support for our mission

What You Bring:
• Post-secondary education in business, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role — non-profit experience is a plus
• Strong people management and organizational skills
• A track record of delivering successful projects or events
• Financial planning and operational oversight experience
• Great communication skills and a collaborative, motivating leadership style

Bonus Points For:
• Experience working with volunteer boards
• Knowledge of Williams Lake and the Cariboo region
• Passion for rodeo, tourism, or community-based initiatives
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset

Salary/Wage

70K-85K
