JOB SYNOPSIS:
As the Snow School Director, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing all day-to-day operations of the Snow School in a professional manner. You will cultivate a dynamic, team-oriented environment that supports learning, engagement, and performance where staff can thrive. In addition, you will provide strategic vision and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive and profitable Snow School programs that deliver exceptional guest experiences and align with the resort’s overall vision and goals.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructing lessons in alignment with the professional standards of the CSIA, CASI, and CANSI.
Overseeing daily operations and assisting with the organization and scheduling of group and private lessons.
Maintaining thorough knowledge of all Snow School programs, schedules, pricing, and procedures.
Promoting Snow School programs, products, and staff throughout the resort in a professional and engaging manner.
Modeling a professional image and conduct as outlined in the Whitewater Employee Handbook.
Fostering a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused atmosphere for both guests and team members.
Ensuring lessons and programs are delivered with safety as the top priority.
Managing administrative responsibilities, including completion of class cards, lesson reports, and guest feedback forms.
Collaborating with other departments as needed, including but not limited to:
– Lodge operations (OGS)
– Patrol sweep and rope line maintenance
– Shoveling, event support, and guest services assistance
Championing sustainability in all operational planning and daily activities.
Supporting and promoting Whitewater’s safety culture by reviewing and updating relevant manuals, policies, and procedures.
Monitoring and achieving department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in alignment with resort goals.
Upholding and promoting Whitewater’s mission, vision, and core values.
Maintaining current knowledge of all legal, safety, and operational standards, including waivers, equipment use, and OHS compliance.
Performing other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
Minimum CSIA or CASI Level 1 certification (or equivalent), with membership in good standing.
Experience in Snow School Operations or leadership (Supervisor, Assistant Director, or equivalent).
Freeride Coaching credentials an asset.
Experience working with children.
Experience in guest service-related positions.
Experience in people management or supervisory roles.
Strong computer skills including excel, POS, and the ability to work within the Microsoft 365 environment.
Must be able to work on weekends and holidays.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Demonstrated success in managing instructors, budgets, scheduling, and guest programs.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Multi-disciplined teaching ability is an asset.
Multilingual instruction ability is an asset.
