Job Description

Regional Tourism Advisor
This role is for someone who cares deeply about this region—its land, its people, and its future. If you’re passionate about protecting this place while helping it thrive, this role offers meaningful work with real impact.
As a Regional Tourism Advisor, you’ll work directly with local tourism operators, Indigenous and rural communities, and regional partners to guide tourism growth that is responsible, practical, and grounded in long-term stewardship. This is not a desk job. It’s hands-on, relationship-driven work built on trust, local knowledge, common sense and a strong understanding of place.
You’ll help operators strengthen their businesses while protecting what makes this region worth visiting in the first place, the land, culture, and way of life that define the region. You’ll listen more than you talk, bring people together, and help ensure tourism benefits communities rather than burdens them. You’ll act as a connector, sounding board, and practical guide—supporting locally appropriate solutions rather than one-size-fits-all approaches.
This role is well suited to someone who:
• Is deeply connected to rural communities, has lived or worked in rural, resource-based area
• Understands the balance between economic resilience and environmental responsibility
• Values integrity, accountability, service over recognition and doing work that matters
• Is motivated by legacy—leaving a region stronger than they found it
This nonprofit role offers meaningful, purpose-driven work for someone committed to safeguarding the region while helping it endure.
