Did You Know?
A well-functioning Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) is a key component of a compliant Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Program. Employers with 20 or more regularly employed workers are legally required to have a committee in place, and JHSC activities are often reviewed during WorkSafeBC inspections to assess compliance, worker engagement, and overall effectiveness.

What Employers Are Saying
Real feedback from employers who’ve participated in go2HR’s JHSC support programs.
A Fresh, Engaging Way to Learn and Spark Conversation
Our JHSC really enjoyed having the go2HR team drop in at our October meeting to present on the basics of Psychological Health & Safety. The drop-in session provided something different for our committee, and the response from members was very positive. The session gave our committee the opportunity to learn about a new topic, and we have already planned a second drop-in session for January. I would recommend other areas give the session a try and see what it sparks within their committee.
Building Confidence and Knowledge to Support Psychological Safety
The JHSC drop-in experience was great. It gave our committee the opportunity to learn about Health and Safety topics that can be hard to delve into during busy times at work. Learning about Psychological Health and Safety, and what we as a committee can do to support a psychologically safe workplace, really assisted our committee in feeling like a team with the knowledge to support improving workplace safety for all employees.
Practical Ideas That Strengthened Our Committee and Energized Discussion
The JHSC drop-in was a really positive experience for us. It gave us helpful, practical ideas to boost our committee’s effectiveness and added fresh energy to our discussions. The conversation around heat stress was especially valuable heading into the summer season. We really appreciated that they were able to cater to our committee’s specific needs and would definitely recommend a drop-in session to other ski resorts.
