About the Role

As the Accounting Technician with Long Beach Lodge Resort, you will work with the Director of Finance and Operations to ensure all revenue, expenses and payments are accurately processed and recorded accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Journal Entries

Monitor and investigate variances between operational reports and accounting records
Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring efficient and accurate completion of all daily functions
Maintain organized and secure financial records and digital filing systems
Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions
Payments & Cash Handling

Printing/sending/recording of payments including cheques, EFT, and e-transfers
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor invoices, statements, and guest balances
Assist with managing cash on site, float replenishments and maintaining a balanced float
Reconciliations & Month-End Close

Assisting with account reconciliations and closing procedures at month end
Assist with preparing and submitting monthly PST, GST & MRT
Monthly reconciliation of ledgers and accounts
Systems & Resort Operations

Be cross-trained and proficient with Silverware, Cloudbeds and night audit procedures
Generally promoting and representing Long Beach Lodge in a professional manner
Assist in liaising with other departments and enforcing internal policies and procedures to ensure accurate reporting
Perform any other reasonable duties/requests as assigned.
Qualifications

Basic bookkeeping or accounting experience (including co-op, internship, or practical training)
Certificate or diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or completion of relevant post-secondary accounting coursework
Strong attention to detail with good organizational and analytical skills
High level of professional integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner
Strong communication skills, particularly when resolving discrepancies and navigating complex or sensitive issues with internal teams
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Knowledge of resort or hospitality operations considered an asset
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Valid driver’s license required for this role.
Physical Requirements

Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and handling documents
Ability to review documents and screens with attention to detail
Ability to use stairs and/or ramps as required
Occasional light lifting and movement around the workplace
Ability to work safely in an office and resort environment
Ability to drive for occasional work-related errands

Additional Requirements

Criminal Record Check: Required prior to start date.
Reference Check: Two professional references will be contacted.
Driver’s Abstract: Required for roles involving use of company vehicles or driving duties.
Signed Staff Manual Agreement: required as part of onboarding, confirming understanding of workplace expectations and policies

Salary/Wage

$24 - 28 per hour based on experience
