Job Description

The Josie Hotel, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, offers 106 boutique guest rooms and suites, crackling fire pits, a premier fitness facility, and boutique spa overlooking Red Mountain. The Velvet Restaurant & Lounge, The Josie’s full-service dining establishment represents the first culinary-offering of its kind in the region serving up locally-inspired craft cooking.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our team! Previous hotel housekeeping supervisory experience is required for this role. Responsibilities & Qualifications

You have a keen eye for detail, and respect the importance that impeccably clean guest rooms have in a hotel. You can communicate well with guests and associates, and always willing to “pitch-in”, lead by example, and be a team player. You have knowledge of basic sanitation requirements/controls and applications of chemicals and knowledge of policies applicable to housekeeping and laundry especially those related to safety, guest security and hotel property.

You have the supervisory skills to manage the housekeeping operations with the ability to effectively deal with associates, in addition to the ability to continuously inspect rooms and work collectively with the team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Supervise and support room attendants, house-persons, inspectors and housekeeping supervisors by conducting daily meetings, inspecting work, and providing feedback to uphold cleanliness standards.
2. Assist the Director of Rooms in hiring, training, evaluating performance, and resolving staff concerns, while maintaining open communication.
3. Create and manage staff schedules based on occupancy and operational needs, ensuring adequate coverage for daily tasks and projects.
4. Oversee and correct payroll records to ensure accurate and timely pay, including adjustments for extra cleanup, rollaway beds, and purchased rooms.
5. Cross-train with the Front Office to assist in providing coverage as required.
6. Monitor housekeeping performance metrics, including inspection scores and cleanliness ratings, to ensure high standards.
7. Maintain and review departmental budget and expense forecasts to optimize housekeeping operations.
8. Ensure guest rooms and public spaces are cleaned according to standards, including:
9. Cleaning and sanitizing bathtubs, toilets, sinks, mirrors, counters, and floors.
10. Dusting furniture, shelves, and fixtures thoroughly.
11. Vacuuming entire rooms and emptying trash.
12. Stripping and making beds, lifting bedspreads (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
13. Verify that all electronic equipment and plumbing fixtures are functioning properly.
14. Oversee room refresh procedures as per hotel guidelines.
15. Assist with inventory management, ensuring proper stock levels of linen, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
16. Maintain clean and organized workstations, housekeeping carts, and linen storage areas.
17. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, wet floor signage, and biohazard disposal procedures.
18. Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
19. Handle lost and found items in compliance with hotel policies.
