Job Description

The Northern Rockies Lodge is looking for a long-term Assistant Manager / Head of Front Desk.

Who we are: The Northern Rockies Lodge with its 21 rooms and 21 cabins is the largest hotel in the remote Muncho Lake/Liard River Hot Springs and Toad River region in Northern British Columbia. The Lodge is directly situated at the Alaska Highway and surrounded by the stunning Northern Rocky Mountains. Besides the regular hotel service, we also operate an RV park. Our floatplane operation takes guests to our backcountry outpost cabins, on flight adventure tours and guided fly-in fishing adventures.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities
• Operate and lead the front desk, including gas station, giftshop and take out
• Operate POS including reporting
• check in and check out guests, operate WebRezPro
• maintaining and reconciliation of third-party partners
• Responsible for Group and crew bookings
• General office duties including filing and billing
• Answer phones, reply to email inquiries, making, changing, and cancelling reservation
• Front desk nightly audit and record keeping of statistics with Microsoft Excel
• Human resources duties
• Train and supervise staff
• Order and inventory retail items, office supplies and souvenirs
• Flight following
• Light bookkeeping and auditing
• Assist the manager and owners

Requirements:
• Minimum 2-year experience working at front desk for a hotel
• Excellent command of English in writing and speaking
• Demonstrates good knowledge of customer service
• Willing to work evenings & weekends, and help in other departments (i.e. restaurant)
• Strong computer skills
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
