Job Description
Kumsheen is looking for a Head Housekeeper to join our team of energetic, adventurous, and friendly staff. This is a great opportunity to work & live in one of the most beautiful areas in BC, at an incredible family-run adventure resort.
About the position:
This position is scheduled from May-September with potential to extend on both ends depending on the applicant’s availability and the work available at the beginning & end of the season. The position of Head Housekeeper is best suited for an organized self-motivator who likes working outside and has great attention to detail. The Housekeepers are not only responsible for keeping the resort accommodations orderly and clean for all of our guests, but they are also an ambassador of Kumsheen as a whole. They are responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department, including managing a small team.
The Head Housekeeper works closely with the Campground Manager under the direction of the General Managers. This individually will also check-in regularly with the Guest Experience Managers information regarding guest requirements at the Resort as well as streamlining services.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Key Responsibilities include:
– Communicating with the Reception Office to ensure timely turnover of rented units and that guest requirements/requests are met
– Ensuring accommodation units (Canvas Cabins and Teepees) are cleaned, cared for, and inspected according to standards
– Performing a variety of cleaning duties both in accommodation units and in common areas of the Resort (such as the washrooms)
Laundry (washing, drying, and folding bed linens, towels, cloths and napkins)
– Collecting garbage & recycling from accommodation units
– Ensuring organization of the towels, bedding, and cleaning supplies, including checking stock levels
– Maintenance of the gardens, including weeding and pruning, as needed
– Managing a small team of up to 3-4 other housekeepers including training, scheduling, mentoring, and quality control
– Ensuring Housekeeping department staff are kept busy during quiet times, including preparing job lists and completing regular department rounds
– Work closely with other managers to ensure overall cleanliness and organization of the full resort
Successful applicants will possess the following:
Must Haves:
– Excellent communication skills
– Extremely organized and detail oriented
– Prioritization and time management skills
– Self-motivated and hard working
– Friendly and a positive attitude
Nice to Haves:
– Previous experience as a housekeeper is preferred
– Previous experience in a leadership role, or managing a small team preferred
– Gardening or landscaping experience is an asset

Salary/Wage
Depending on experience, starting at $19/hour plus great perks!
