Job Description

Bell 2 Lodge is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill a hybrid role of Housekeeper/Cafe Attendant for our Remote Resort in Northern BC.

This is a short term position, ideally with an immediate start and running until the end of Septermber (made up of two rotations with a week off in the middle).

The ideal candidate will be an energetic team player, with a positive attitude, flexible approach, and proven fast learner.

Housekeepers provide cleaning service to all lodge accommodations and common areas daily. Our lodge is not a typical hotel, as it is fully self-sustaining and includes chalets with individual rooms in a remote location.

The Café Attendant must LOVE customer service. Catering to road guest & contractors, you are in charge of running the Gas Station, Lunch Menu, and Espresso Machine all while maintaining inventory levels of all confectionary, beverage and house-made food items. This position is responsible for keeping a clean work environment for guests while producing sales and working with a cash register. The Cafe Attendant does require basic barista skills and be comfortable working with a manual 2 group head Espresso Machine.

Excellent attention to detail and following procedures is paramount in this role. Maintenance and cleanliness play an important part in the services we provide to our guests and must be maintained at the highest standards.

Reporting to the Lodge Manager, preferred skills and core competencies are:

Energetic and upbeat, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers.
Friendly personality with a genuine desire to help and please others.
Take pride in doing the job well and with a keen eye for detail.
Able to perform the same tasks repeatedly with satisfaction.
A positive attitude and flexible approach.
Be physically fit to fulfill this position, including reaching and bending to clean, as well as climbing stairs.
Able to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
Passion for working with people and the outdoors is an asset.

Requirements:

A minimum 2 years of housekeeping experience in a resort/luxury hotel
A minimum 2 years customer service experience in hospitality (cafe / restaurant)
Previous experience working in a remote lodge environment an asset
Must be legally entitled to live & work in Canada

Other Perks/Benefits

Accommodation and meals are provided for all employees while on rotation. Gratuities are divided equally among all staff on a weekly basis. Transfers to and from Terrace are provided. Flights are at your own cost. Please note we cannot accommodate pets. Schedule is based on a three weeks on and one week off rotation, working ten hours per day.
