Responsibilities & Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform repair and maintenance duties of minor electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, mechanical engineering service inquiries within the Wall organization. Work areas will be assigned as needed based on skill level and experience.
• Respond to in-house guest calls and external service calls to properties owned and managed by Wall in a timely manner, and assist as needed.
• Ensure all safety systems are operable and all equipment meets health and safety standards.
• Understand and perform basic construction methods and materials, i.e., grading, masonry, carpentry and demolition skills.
• Keep accurate records of assigned tasks and work completed, ensuring proper communication with management.
• Make sure that storage areas and workshops are kept clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager such as assisting maintenance associates as required in a team effort.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and overnight, as required.
• Must be able to travel between properties.
• Most work tasks are performed indoors. Occasionally will have to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10F), kitchens and outdoor settings during summer (+110F).
• The worker is subject to hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high hear or exposure to chemicals.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis, 50 lbs. on a frequent basis, and 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Prior related experience in the field of maintenance a must.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to obtain and/or maintain government required licenses and certificates.
• Post-secondary education studies in a related field an asset, high school or equivalent education required.
• Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per Wall Centre standards.
• Experience working with power tools required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada. Valid Work or Study Permits – 1 Year Minimum Validity.
Salary/Wage
$31.15-$34.60 per hour
