Job Description
Siwash Lake is inviting an experienced marksman to join us for our upcoming guest season and beyond. We’re seeking someone who loves teaching their craft, is safety oriented, and is passionate about sharing our stunning BC wilderness with people from around the world. We pride ourselves on creating unforgettable guest experiences, and always going above and beyond through our service excellence. In this role, you will facilitate a marksmanship program for discerning international clientele, delivering technical firearms instruction and safety-focused range sessions within a wilderness setting.
The ideal candidate will be able to guide multiple resort activities, and is proficient in at least one of the following: archery, fly fishing, bushcraft, or other outdoor activities.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
●Avid outdoor enthusiast with robust marksmanship and firearms experience
●At least two years of related guiding or instructing experience preferred
●Current certifications for First-Aid and PAL
●Working knowledge of safety and risk management when dealing with people, firearms, and the wilderness environment
●Possess social skills required for serving a high-end, discerning clientele
●Comfortable with children
●Able to work independently and as part of a team
●Willing to abide by the resort’s established systems and sustainability best practices
●Clear communicator, adept at listening
●Stamina for working in a physically demanding, fast-paced workplace
●Mentally prepared to relocate and live in a remote wilderness environment
●Passionate about the outdoors, sustainability, and excellent service
●High school diploma
●Knowledge of terrain, environment, flora and fauna in BC’s Interior
●Carpentry or construction experience
●Proficiency with ranch equipment (chainsaw, ATV, woodsplitter, etc.)
●Knowledge of fly fishing, archery, bushcraft, or other outdoor activities
●Own vehicle
