NIGHT CLEANER

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Empty recycling, organics, and garbage from the 4th floor back kitchen and 1st floor main kitchen daily.
• Sweep and mop 4th floor kitchen, 1st floor main kitchen and back hallways floor as needed.
• Wipe ice machines and clearing station on the 4th floor back kitchen and 1st floor main kitchen daily.
• Daily inspect the 4th floor banquet foyer’s, empty garbage’s, clean exterior of garbage’s, wipe and dust window ledges in the foyer, remove finger smudges from windows, and wipe furniture when needed.
• Clean 1st floor main kitchen external hood vents on a once weekly basis
• Vacuum 4th floor foyer carpets
• Conduct inventory on chemicals
• Report all maintenance, damages and any issues with hotel to lead steward.
• Make sure that dish washing areas on 4th floor back kitchen, 1st floor main kitchen are cleared after events and restaurant closure.
• Must carry radios and answer calls at all times.
• Communicate with stewards, main kitchen and banquets concerning events.
• Ensure restaurants and banquet kitchens have required amounts of the necessary chemicals and cleaning materials available and stocked to properly service the customers in a clean and ordered manner. If not, please report to Executive Chef for ordering.
• Responsible for once weekly sanitation and deep cleaning tasks of all kitchen and food prep areas, including cooking equipment, preparation areas and dishwashing areas as assigned and communicated by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
• Responsible for once weekly sanitation and deep cleaning tasks of banqueting prep and back of house areas, storage areas, preparation areas and dishwashing areas as assigned and communicated by the Banqueting Manager and Assistant Banqueting Manager.
• Regular attendance and conformance with hotel standards is essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•Must be able to lift/carry up to 25kg on a regular and continuous basis.
•Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100kg on a regular and continuous basis.
•Must be able to walk/stand for up to 4 hours in length.
•Subject may be exposed to elevated noise levels.
•Requires manual dexterity to fulfill cleaning duties as well as to operate all necessary equipment.
•Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach the other departments in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
• High school or equivalent education is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and or maintain any provincial and federal licenses, certificates and permits.
• Food Safe Certified.
• Hotel and restaurant experience and asset.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. A second language is an asset.
• Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be able to work varying shifts.
• All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per hotel standards.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada. Valid Work or Study Permits – 1 Year Minimum Validity.
Salary/Wage
$25.50 per hour
