Job Description
The Nordic Food & Beverage Manager plays a key role in shaping the guest experience across Cypress Mountain’s Nordic area – home to the newly rebuilt Hollyburn Lodge, the Nordic Café, and a variety of special events. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a vibrant, outdoor-focused environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service. You’ll lead daily operations, inspire your team, and ensure our food quality and guest experience reflect the warmth, energy, and uniqueness of our Nordic offerings.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
ESSENTAIL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to the following):
• Travel 1 km to and from Hollyburn Lodge by cross-country skis or snowshoes, prepared with appropriate winter gear.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere by delivering efficient, high-quality service and products that enhance the Nordic guest experience.
• Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns with professionalism, warmth, and a solutions-focused approach.
• Recruit, train, and schedule all Food & Beverage team members, fostering a supportive and high-performing team culture.
• Lead, coordinate, and mentor the team and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Manage food ordering, oversee stock rotation, and complete accurate monthly inventory counts.
• Uphold cleanliness and organization throughout the Nordic F&B department, ensuring proper storage of all food and equipment.
• Collaborate with departments across the mountain to deliver memorable, well-executed special events.
• Maintain a consistently food-safe environment through strict adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
• Ensure all F&B Team members are properly trained and consistently follow established safety procedures.
• Review, consolidate, and verify daily sales and payroll edit reports with accuracy and attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:
• Solid cooking knowledge and practical culinary skills.
• Strong customer service focus with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to a clean, organized workspace.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of team members.
• Ability to remain organized and courteous when under pressure.
• Dependable and a self-starter – completes tasks independently, and follows through.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a mountain environment.
• Available on weekends and holidays; overtime may be required during peak times.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 2 yrs. experience in a food service supervisory or management role.
• FOODSAFE Level 1, FOODSAFE Level 2 (an asset)
• Serving It Right.
• Completion of a food service administration, hotel or restaurant management course (an asset).
• Experience in the ski resort, outdoor recreation, hospitality, or tourism industry (an asset).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must be able to legally work in Canada.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle with winter tires to get to/from work.
Salary/Wage
26/hour
