MacKenzie Beach Resort offers Cabins, Airstreams and camping with onsite café and restaurant. Other amenities include bike and fire pit rentals as well as an on-site sauna.
MacKenzie Beach Resort is seeking a hardworking, self-motivated and disciplined individual to fill the role of Resort Interior Decorator. The successful candidate must be willing to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime. This position is full time and permanent based out of our resort in Tofino, BC.

Duties:
• Overseeing accommodation styling and staging in accordance to resort brand and purpose of space.
• Managing and Coordinating room attendant activities.
• Estimate the cost of projects
• Prepare detailed specifications
• Advise on selection of colors, finishes and materials, lighting, furniture and other items, taking into account ergonomic and occupational health standards
• Consult with clients to determine needs, preferences, safety requirements and purpose of space
• Renovation and decoration of suites and vintage Airstream Trailers.
• Coordinating housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure optimal aesthetic and practical impressions in accordance to corporate identity of the resort.
• Ordering materials and new items in accordance with corporate identity.
• Develop plans and specifications for the interior designs in accordance with current practices and codes.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary school. A College certificate or diploma in interior decorating or related field, is preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience in interior decorating, visual merchandising or similar is required.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Familiar and competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Basic carpentry and seamstress competency is preferred.
