Job Description

A Room Attendant is responsible to maintain room quality and cleanliness; clean guest rooms in accordance with established quality and performance standards to allow a sufficient quantity of vacant and clean guest rooms for sale; and clean occupied guest rooms.

  • Clean and reset guest bedroom and bathroom areas according to established standards
  • Organize and stock cleaning cart and organize linen closets on floors assigned
  • Complete any assigned paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning product to adhere to health standards
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests
  • Assist other housekeeping team members in maintaining clean and organized work and public areas
  • Comply with HVD Occupational Health and Safety Programs and the Regulation of WorkSafeBC
  • Set a good safety example
  • Maintain that the work area, tools and equipment are clean, organized and in safe condition
  • Report any service discrepancies to the appropriate manager or supervisor to resolve where possible
  • Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required
  • All other duties as assigned

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • You must be available for weekend shifts – Friday, Saturday and Sundays
  • 8 hours for 5 days working
  • Flexibility is important
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.  Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Should feel comfortable in speaking with guests and capable of assisting them with information
  • Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge
  • Woking knowledge of applicable sanitation standards
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 200 lbs on a regular and continuous basis
  • Must be able bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
  • 1 year of previous cleaning experience in a hotel setting preferred
  • Must follow all policies and procedures and Brand Standards
  • The hotel is unable to assist with international candidates obtaining Canadian work authorization
