Job Description and Responsibilities:
The Rooms Division Supervisor supports the daily operations of the Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Front Office departments. The supervisor coordinates task workflows, ensures service consistency, and provides leadership on shift. Your day to day focuses on supervising staff, supporting and improving guest satisfaction, and maintaining smooth departmental communication.
• Ensuring the Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance departments deliver consistent and outstanding guest experiences and resolution of guest concerns
• Coordinate and assign work of Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and accommodation services staff to support smooth daily operations.
• Conduct walkthroughs and floor checks to ensure cleanliness, maintenance readiness, and guest service standards throughout guestrooms and public areas.
• Maintain open, effective communication with all Rooms Division departments to support a cohesive, guest-focused operation.
• Oversee on-shift service delivery across all Rooms Division departments to ensure hotel standards and guest service expectations are consistently met.
• Act as the Hotel Supervisor on Duty during assigned shifts, responding to guest concerns and escalating issues to management when required.
• Establish and follow daily work schedules and procedures under the direction of management, ensuring appropriate staffing and workflow support.
• Provide on-shift training, coaching, and support in job duties, guest service, company policies, and safety procedures; assist in onboarding new employees when requested.
• Maintain practical knowledge of essential systems (e.g., Maestro PMS, CASH Call Accounting, VING Key Card System) and support staff in proper use of hotel equipment and tools.
• Support accurate entry and maintenance of reservations, group blocks, and room assignments, ensuring procedures are consistently followed.
• Prepare and submit progress updates, shift reports, and other required documentation to management.
• Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, equipment, and machinery across the Rooms Division, and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
• Perform the same duties as the staff supervised when operational needs require, including supporting Front Office, Housekeeping, or Maintenance teams during busy periods or staffing shortages.
• Support management with operational reporting and recommendations for improvements
• Other reasonable duties assigned periodically by management.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
• 5+ years of progressive experience in travel/tourism/hospitality industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
• Proven success in hotel operations leadership with responsibility for multiple departments
• Strong background in international customer service environments (hospitality experience preferred)
• Proficiency with hotel and travel industry systems (PMS, reservations, key card systems, accounting software)
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop diverse teams across service functions
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in English written and oral communication
Education Requirements:
· Completion of post-secondary certificate or diploma in hospitality, business or related field
