As Senior Accountant, you will have a thorough understanding and experience in all finance positions such as General Cashier, Day Audit, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Balance sheets reconciliation and full month end cycle as well as GST & PST reconciliation and filing.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position Requirements:
• Be fully trained and competent in all finance positions
• Perform the responsibilities of each position based on need (i.e. vacation, vacancies)
• Reconcile and balance all credit cards
• Reconcile Marriott Bonvoy and apply reimbursement in the front office system
• Complete complex financial reports and worksheets such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and operating reports
• Reconcile GST & PST
• Prepare monthly individual owner statements
• Prepare & process owners’ distribution
• Prepare statements of sale to assist lawyers with unit sales
• Prepare monthly Strata package

Management Skills:
• Demonstrate self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm
• Actively solicits areas of concerns and recommendations for improvement in the areas of responsibility
• Impose realistic deadlines for self and ensure that deadlines are met. This will be measured by the achievement of the stated deadlines
• Handle stress effectively. This will be measured by the feedback from department heads and associates

Skills & Experience:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
• Proficiency with accounting software (Great Plains an asset) and hotel management systems (Galaxy Lightspeed an asset)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel

General Requirements:
• Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in the hospitality industry
• Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check

Salary/Wage

65-70K/yr
