If so, Destination Vancouver’s Specialist, Marketing (Travel Trade & Media) role could be the right match for you.

Reporting to the Market Manager, North America and works closely with the travel media, content development, marketing services and brand and marketing teams, the Specialist plays a key role in supporting the development and execution of Destination Vancouver’s partnership marketing campaigns with travel trade partners, including travel agencies, receptive tour operators, online travel agencies (OTAs), and airlines. The role also supports travel media initiatives, assisting to ensure accurate and engaging promotion of Vancouver across priority markets.

From curating compelling creative assets and crafting engaging newsletters to supporting travel media content and campaign execution, the Specialist brings Destination Vancouver’s brand and market strategies to life in collaboration with partners, ensuring trade and media content is consistent, on-brand, and impactful.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

STRATEGIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 Act as the liaison between Market Development, Marketing Services and Content teams.
 Contribute to Market Development and Content strategies in alignment with business priorities.
 Collaborate with internal teams to identify and plan for content needs.
 Source imagery, video, copy and logos for travel trade, airline partnerships, and media activities.
 Develop and edit content for key travel trade and media resources.
 Facilitate translation of copy and marketing materials as required
 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Vancouver’s destination offerings, including member products and experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Travel Trade & Airline Marketing Support
 Coordinates the workflow of partnership marketing campaigns, including tracking deadlines, sourcing content, organizing creative assets, and monitoring performance.
 Sources content for travel trade and airline partnerships that align with Destination Vancouver’s brand and market strategies.
 Reviews marketing creative sent by tour operators and/or airlines and facilitates final approvals in collaboration with Market Managers.
 Ensures creative alignment between consumer marketing campaigns and travel trade/airline marketing campaigns.
 Collaborates with Market Managers to ensure Vancouver’s presence in partner campaigns reflects agreed investments and deliverables.
 Develops and maintains travel trade resources such as marketing toolkits, product guides, themed itineraries, and presentations, ensuring they are current and on-brand.
 Contributes to the development and delivery of the monthly Travel Trade newsletter.
 Supports quarterly content audits to ensure the Vancouver Specialist Program remains current and relevant.

Travel Media Content Support
 Supports Destination Vancouver’s travel media team with content that highlights story ideas and key facts about Vancouver to inspire editorial coverage in target markets.
 Reviews paid editorial coverage to ensure factual accuracy and alignment with brand and market strategies.
 Supports the development of travel media marketing materials.
 Assists in tracking and reporting media and influencer coverage.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
 Passionate about Vancouver as a place to live, work and explore.
 Previous experience with marketing campaigns, including with content creation, social media, blogs, digital advertising, print, out of home and e-mail marketing.
 Experience supporting B2B partnerships, ideally within travel trade or travel media.
 Skilled at creating compelling, brand – consistent content for digital, social, print and trade audiences.
 Strong administrative skills; highly organized with strong time management skills, attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Ability to work well independently yet co-operatively; consistently committed to individual, team and corporate excellence, always maintaining professionalism.
 Ability to make sound decisions, meet deadlines, take direction and pay attention to detail.
 Strong technology aptitude including Adobe Creative Suite specifically in design and AI for business applications.
 Knowledge of project management tools or software.
 Ability to read and write in additional languages (i.e. Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean and/or German) is an asset but not required.
 Post-secondary education in a related field and/or equivalent experience.
