About Wahous Wilderness Lodge
Located on traditional Ahousaht territory, Wahous Wilderness Lodge offers a unique blend of luxury and adventure nestled in the heart of Clayoquot Sound. Our lodge features 16 premium guest rooms, a sophisticated lounge and restaurant, spa facilities, eco-tour activities, and a one-of-a-kind longhouse. Beyond our seasonal eco-tourism activities (May to October), we also host transformative healing and wellness programs for youth and adults.

What You’ll Do
The Guest Relations Manager will serve as the face of Wahous Wilderness Lodge and a cultural ambassador for our property. In this pivotal role, you will lead our Guest Relations team, oversee all aspects of guest interactions, and ensure that every experience is seamless, personalized, and memorable. You will embody the spirit of the lodge, sharing the stories, traditions, and natural heritage of the region, while coordinating tours, spa appointments, excursions, and boutique services. This is an onsite leadership role at a luxury lodge, requiring a highly polished, professional, and proactive individual who can combine operational excellence with warmth, authenticity, and cultural storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
1.Guest Experience & Engagement
-Serve as the primary point of contact for all guest interactions, ensuring rapid, professional, and highly personalized responses.
-Oversee bookings for tours, excursions, spa treatments, and lodge activities,ensuring flawless coordination.
-Anticipate guest needs, provide tailored recommendations, and create immersive experiences that exceed expectations.
-Resolve guest concerns with discretion and efficiency, maintaining the highest standards of satisfaction.
2. Cultural Ambassador
-Act as a guide to the rich local culture, traditions, and natural heritage of the region.
-Collaborate with Indigenous communities, local guides, and cultural partners to deliver authentic, meaningful experiences.
-Integrate cultural storytelling into lodge activities, excursions, and guest interactions to enrich each stay.
3. Team Leadership & Collaboration
-Lead, mentor, and inspire the Guest Relations team, fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and hospitality.
-Collaborate closely with F&B, spa, housekeeping, excursions, and boutique teams to deliver seamless, cross-departmental experiences.
-Conduct team training, performance management, and development initiatives to ensure high operational standards.
4. Boutique & Operational Oversight
-Oversee boutique operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and sales.
-Ensure operational excellence across guest services, maintaining accurate records, reservations, and communications.
-Continuously identify opportunities to innovate and elevate the guest experience.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You Bring
Qualifications:
-Minimum 5 years of luxury guest relations, concierge, or hospitality management
experience; resort or lodge experience preferred.
-Proven team leadership and management experience.
-Deep appreciation for cultural heritage and ability to serve as a credible cultural
ambassador.
-Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
-Proficient with reservation systems, POS, and guest service technology.
-Professional, polished demeanor with a genuine passion for luxury hospitality.
-Flexibility to work onsite, including weekends, holidays, and variable shifts.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to convey warmth, clarity, and professionalism.
-Problem-solving mindset with a calm, steady presence under pressure.
-Respectful and collaborative team member, open to feedback and continuous learning.
Preferred Skills
-Experience with remote, luxury or boutique hotel/resort environments.
-Knowledge of local tourism trends and potential partnerships for cross-promotions.
-OFA 3/ Advanced First Aid
Physical Requirements:
-Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak season.
-Ability to travel by boat between Tofino and Wahous Wilderness Lodge as required.
Additional Information:
This role can be initially remote, offering flexibility for the successful candidate. However, our ideal vision is that this position transitions to an onsite lodge-based role, where the individual can grow into a future Guest Services Manager.
Salary/Wage
65,000.00 to $75,00.00
