Job Description
Position overview:
A seasonal room attendant is responsible for overall cleanliness and appearance of facilities ensuring a positive guest experience. This will include cleaning, changing linens, restocking amenities, and managing waste. Key responsibilities also involve reporting maintenance issues, handling guest requests, and following security and safety policies.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Housekeeping & cleaning: cleaning of all guest rooms and public areas including: dusting, vacuuming, washing floors, sanitizing bathrooms, cleaning appliances, washing dishes, cleaning kitchen cupboards and countertops, wiping down walls, sweeping front and outside entry areas and washing windows.
Maintain bedding: change bed linens and replace towels
Restock supplies: replenish guest room amenities.
Manage waste: collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and room service trays.
Lost and found: label and take all items for the front desk agent
Address guest needs: respond to guest requests for extra items or services in a professional and timely manner.
Report issues: notify the front desk agent of any damaged or broken items, such as lightbulbs, appliances, or fixtures.
Follow procedures: comply with all Naramata Centre’s safety, sanitation, and security policies and procedures.
Handle laundry: process kitchen and guest laundry according to procedures.
Furniture: respond to requests to set up and tear down furniture for events
Community engagement: actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and community gatherings.
Other duties: from time to time you may be required to assist with cleaning of other areas, kitchen duties, etc.
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to work independently, without supervision and as part of a team;
Excellent organizational and time management skills;
Strong attention to detail and focus on maintaining cleanliness standards;
Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate with team members and the operations team;
Hands-on experience with cleaning for large organizations;
Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products;
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and to following health and safety protocols and guidelines;
Strong customer service in responding to guest requests and;
Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job.
