As a Senior Sales Manager, you will play a key role in driving group and conference business while fostering long-term client relationships that reflect the quality and prestige of our award-winning hotel.
This position requires a motivated and strategic sales professional with a proven ability to generate revenue, identify new opportunities, and represent the hotel with professionalism and authenticity. Responsibilities & Qualifications
Description of Duties:
• Plan and execute all sales activities as outlined in the annual business plan.
• Cultivate new business opportunities through qualified prospecting, sales calls, and relationship development.
• Track all prospecting and client interactions accurately in Opera PMS.
• Provide authentic client stewardship by nurturing relationships with both new and existing clients.
• Meet with prospective clients to conduct professional site inspections and showcase hotel facilities.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of all hotel products, services, and amenities to promote the property effectively.
• Monitor and analyze competitor offerings to ensure the hotel remains competitive within the market.
• Represent the hotel professionally at industry-related events, conferences, and trade shows in Victoria, across Canada, and internationally.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Support, mentor, and monitor sales managers through training, performance feedback, and ongoing guidance; assist with annual sales event planning and model professionalism to motivate team excellence.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing or designate.
Qualifications & Abilities:
• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive sales experience in a hotel environment, preferably in a high-end, full-service property.
• Proven success in achieving revenue and sales targets through effective account management and new business development.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Opera PMS applications.
• Professional and personable in verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strategic thinker with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Thorough knowledge of Victoria’s hospitality market and competitive hotel landscape.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve departmental objectives.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results driven.
• Valid driver’s license and be able to travel domestically and internationally for work-related purposes.
Salary/Wage
$60 - $70K, commensurate with experience., and is eligible for bonus structure.
