Job Description
Description of Duties:
• Supervise and participate in the day to day operation of all areas of the kitchen to ensure that the highest quality and presentation of foods is being maintained
• Work with the Executive Chef in the preparation of the budget
• Assist in developing recipes and food presentation specs
• Maintain a high standard of personal integrity and professionalism at all times
• Foster, build and maintain an excellent team through coaching, encouraging, and motivating
• Design menus utilizing all resources and markets for cost effective quality
• Assist in conducting monthly staff meetings
• Develop staff work schedules weekly based on forecasted productivity needs
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• 4 years of culinary experience with Red Seal Certification
• A minimum 2 years of Banqueting experience is required
• WHMIS and Food Safe Certification Ability to work unsupervised and show accountability for all decisions made during the shift
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills
• Ability to effectively delegate when required
• Able to produce accurate and timely food costs
• Able to supervise and direct effectively with good coaching skills
• Previous experience within a 4 or 5 star property is preferred
